I was assigned to comment on Dr. Baggett's blog. One of her post that I commented on was a video on The Elements of Art. This video discussed the seven elements of art which are line, shape, form, space, color, value, and texture. The video went over each element and explained the term in more detail. Art can be made by just drawing lines on a page or drawing these lines to make a shape. Some art is made into a 3D picture or sculpture which gives that piece of art form. Most pieces art that have form take up space. They are mostly sculptures. Art also has color. Color is a big element in art. Color allows the artist to express themselves and express the mood of the art. The shade of the color is the value of the color. When different color values are by each other, they create texture. The texture is how the paint feels or looks. It can be rough or smooth, hard or soft, wet or dry. I did not not realize how much goes into creating art. Art has so many different elements and so putting all of them together create art.
I also commented on Dr. Baggett's post about Mr. Ricky. Mr. Ricky is a blind artist who paints by using his index finger. Mr. Ricky has an assistant who tells him where each color is on his plate of paint and he dips is index finger in the paint and begins to paint. He now has a talking computer and a color identifier which helps him pick out all the different colors. I was lucky enough too see him paint when I was in high school. He visited my art class and painted for us. Watching him paint was so amazing. Even though he has a disability, he does not let that get the best of him. He still lives his life and does what he loves to do like paint.
Kevin McLaughlin
Mr. McLaughlin posted on his blog about turning off technology for good. He says that teachers who have smartboards do not use them right. He says that teachers do not know how to use them for good and need to keep them away. I think the teachers should have to attend a class to learn how to use a smartboard correctly.
Larry Ferlazzo's Website of the Day
Mr. Larry blog post consist of useful websites. One of my favorite websites I found on his blog was Grockit Answers. This website lets you be able to keep all your studying material online with easy access. You can also watch a YouTube video and be able to create a quiz from that video. This seems like an easy way to test while using technology.
The second post I read from Mr. Larry was about Halloween candy, since Halloween is coming up. He found this video about the production of Halloween candy. The guy in the video also talked about the hard work it takes to make the candy. I did not know that candy was so hard to make, being that Americans eat so much of it.
